In 1996, a group of small indigenous coffee cooperatives in the Mayan Highlands of Mexican state of Chiapas banded together to produce environmentally responsible organically grown coffee. They have since used their resources to improve their homes, further their children’s education, while providing food and advanced medical care for their families.
